Having natural hair is a beautiful journey and a rewarding experience, but we all go through times when it also can be frustrating. Doing natural hair requires lots of patience and for me sometimes I love it and sometimes I get frustrated with my hair!!
Curly hair is naturally fragile because of the lack of moisture as well as a compromised cuticle because of the natural bend of the curl.
For me the process of doing my hair is literally an ALL DAY PROCESS!! I have to schedule a day that I can totally devote to my hair.
I have to wash in sections, detangle in sections, deep condition in sections, steam my hair for maximum moisture (I will explain this separately in another post), then style my hair which takes longer than the washing and detangling process!
Like everyone, I have great hair days and not so great hair days. Some days I love the length, some days I want to cut it all off (like big chop short!!)
So to all my newbie naturals, stay encouraged, and don't give up because it is a process and takes patience to learn your hair all over again. It's the best decision I have ever made!!
